We left Snowville at 6:45, and it was so chilly we wore our raincoats/jackets. We had a slight climb and then a wonderful downhill as we followed I-84 for 30km.
After a short visit with Walter, we continued on to the village visible in the distance. It turned out to be ATK Thiokol, a contractor for propulsion systems for the military and NASA. It went on for miles. Near the end of the facility, there was a display of rockets, various propulsion elements and even one of the boosters from the Space Shuttle. After another mile or so along the route we passed a rocket testing facility which must be quite popular. The sign out front mentioned the next test, which is October 7 at 10:30 pm, if you want to come check it out.
The roadway after ATK passed through what appeared to be an old lake bed. It smelled like the ocean and was a little smelly. The locals call it Stinky Springs.
We stopped in Corinne for our morning coffee and an order of fries and met Dave DeRidder’s brother, Scott and his wife Joyce.
In Brigham, there were tree lined streets complete with the shade that we miss so much. The buildings are very nice and in the traditional small town America style.
The roadway was under construction on the way out of town and the way was dusty and windy.
We received bonus km’s today coming into camp, which is on the shore of Willard Bay. It appears to be a man-made reservoir.
Once again, shade is at a premium. We can be thankful that the shade here actually is cooler than the shade at home due the lack of humidity.
Today was almost like a day off, which I need, because my butt, legs and hands are sore.

There was a lot of construction on the roads today. My feet are sore, my hands are sore and yes, my butt is sore. Tomorrow we are on sweep and it will be over 150kms long. Thank goodness we have the next day off.
